International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR)

The International Traffic in Arms Regulations (“ITAR,” 22 CFR 120-130) implements the AECA. These regulations are regularly updated and revised to reflect change in the international political and security climate, as well as technological development.

ITAR compliance means that organizations (wholesalers, contractors, software/hardware/technology vendors, third-party suppliers) which sell, manufacture, and distribute services or products must abide by the rules and specifications set forth by the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).
